BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE ! ! !
Revel Rhodes has always been heavily influenced by both historical and current events. Incidents have been rearranged and reimagined, but the references are there for anyone who is looking.
The Echo was originally intended as a leaflet style underground newspaper that would provide side stories and additional context to the Revel Rhodes universe, but the nationwide protests of 2020 presented me with a new opportunity.
The Echo is still a continuation of the Revel Rhodes story (which will be returning for issue 4 next year) - but now it is also its own story about a city overtaken by protests and violence. It is a story about strangers joining together to fight for a common cause. It is a story about radicalization and the fight to maintain order.

The Echo - Concept
2020 - Shield Wall
The events depicted in the Echo are based on the stories covered by independent journalists and ordinary people. Some you may be familiar with. Others are more obscure. As you read The Echo, I hope you will consider that the stories told and the images presented may be represented in a fictional story, but they are very real. And they are happening right now, all around us.
In the process or researching and writing the Echo, I've come across a wide variety of sources for information and mutual aid. I'm not affiliated with any of these individuals or organizations in any way, and I can't vouch for them 100% - but if you want to know more, or if you need or can provide help, these sources may be worth checking out. I'll add to these resources as I come across them. Feel free to send me any suggestions if you have them. We can accomplish more when we work together.
